Through a friendly and fun method you can learn to paint in watercolor at LGS Recreation in Los Gatos this Spring. Your instructor: Elvira Rascov Watercolor Live Instruction classes are scheduled every Tuesday afternoon from 3:30 to 6:00 pm and Thursday mornings from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.

About this Course
Surprise the women in your life with a hand painted watercolor card on Mother’s Day! In this workshop you will learn how to paint 3 different watercolor and ink cards. The instructor will provide the images and you will paint-a-long. Class is designed for all levels of painting. Basic materials you should have for this class: -Basic set of watercolor paints -140lb/300 gm watercolor paper -Set of watercolor brushes include round brushes number 4, 6, 10 or 12 and a rigger brush for details. -Low tack masking tape -Masking fluid -A black ink liner 0.3 or 0.5 (Micron brand) or (Faber Castell) The simplest way to make the cards is to fold a sheet of paper in half, but you can also find watercolor postcards ready to pop in an envelope if you prefer.

About this Course
It is fun to send friends and family your own watercolor cards. In this class you will have the opportunity to learn how to make your own holiday cards. With simple watercolor techniques you will make four different holiday cards. Using wet and wet techniques, glazing, masking to reserve whites you will be able to make beautiful winter and holiday scenes. The instructor will provide the images for the cards and the students will paint-a-long to create their own cards. At the end of the class, you will have three original cards that you can send family and friends.
A detailed list of materials will be sent to you once you sign up for the class.

It’s time for a beer and a paint, just in time for the holidays!! Join Elvira Rascov and Elvira Gallery, at Narrative Fermentations, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo and Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) for a fun watercolor painting event on November 11th from 12-3 at Narrative Fermentations! We will be painting cheetah cards and because it is so close to the holidays we can teach you how to paint them for holiday gift giving!! Dr. Laurie Marker, Founder of Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) will be there, so this is a great opportunity to meet her and learn more about her work in Africa and how some of this work can be translated to how we protect our wildlife here.
This will be a fun time so come over and let us celebrate the cheetah and animals together with a beer and a couple painted cards!!

In this fun evening class students will learn how to paint an Autumn Landscape in Watercolor. Instructor will demonstrate the whole process from beginning to end. You can paint a-long and learn all the steps to be successful in making a beautiful landscape. Techniques will be presented while doing the live demo. There are a lot of opportunities to improve your painting techniques and the instructor will be there to help you through the process. A sketch of the painting will be sent to students before the class so students can be ready to follow step by step.
Basic materials you should have for this class: -Cold press watercolor paper – Basic set of watercolor paints – Set of watercolor brushes include round brushes number 4, 6, 10 and a rigger brush for details A more detailed list of materials will be sent when you sign up for the class.
This two session class will be offered two Saturdays in September.
Experimenting with Gouache NEW Class FALL 2023 – Two sessions
Learn to paint with gouache (opaque watercolor) a wonderful medium that allows you to layer bold colors with different blending techniques. With a project with each class, paint-a-long and familiarize yourself with gouache paint by exploring tones, brushstroke techniques, and color combinations.
Gouache is a fun medium that allows you to create different layers of color. It can also be used with less amount of pigment to create watercolor effects.

How about a children’s book illustration using watercolor and ink?
Let’s learn how to combine two mediums to create fun illustrations.
A contemporary still life is a fun project to paint. You will learn composition and how to paint reflections and shadows in watercolor.
A landscape made with watercolor and ink will be an inspiration to learn how to paint outside the classroom. New techniques to take notes and sketches that will be use later to create a fun composition in watercolor.
