About this Course
Let’s have a fun late afternoon painting Spring Flowers in watercolor. In this workshop you will learn how to sketch and paint a fun watercolor bouquet of flowers to celebrate spring. Instructor will provide the image and you will paint-a-long in class. This workshop is designed to all levels of painting.
Basic materials you should have for this class:
-140lb/300 gm watercolor paper
-Basic set of watercolor paints
-Set of watercolor brushes include round brushes number 4, 6, 10 or 12 and a rigger brush for details. -Low tack masking tape
-Masking fluid
-A black ink liner 0.3 or 0.5 (Micron brand) or (Faber Castell)

In this fun course students will have the opportunity to practice and learn basic to advance techniques in watercolor. Throughout the course there will be different demos and step by step paint-a-long exercises were the students will learn and improve their watercolor skills. Students will be able to finish a painting at the end of each class. This course is designed for all levels of painting.

March 16 – First class of this session. We will be painting an “Atmospheric Fox”
This is a fun project with a loose style. Excellent exercise to learn to play with color values.
Beginner to Intermediate level.
March 23 – Foliage in Spring
In this class we will learn how to paint trees and foliage to create a path and perspective using dark and light values.
April 6 – Water Stream
Let’s add architecture to the composition to make an interesting painting. We will learn how to make reflections in water.
April 13 – Let’s paint food!
A different project that will teach you a more detail approach using watercolor. Let’s learn how to create volume on different shape of vegetables. An why not to paint a dessert too?
April 27 – Little girl with a cat
Let’s paint a little girl with watercolor. By using different techniques we will learn how to paint people and pets.
May 4 – European Street
In this last class we will learn how to apply perspective to create an interesting composition.

Thanksgiving is a special Holiday. Let’s celebrate it by sending special handmade cards to our family and friends. In this class you will have the opportunity to paint with watercolor your own Thanksgiving cards. With simple watercolor techniques you will make three different cards. The instructor will provide the images and sketches and will guide you all the way.
One class is still available through Los Gatos Saratoga Community Education and Recreation.
