What You’ll Learn
In this hands-on class, you’ll discover how pastel pencils can be used to create beautiful, detailed bird artwork. Through step-by-step demonstrations, you’ll learn:
- Layering techniques for rich color and depth
- Blending methods to create soft transitions
- Color mixing with pastel pencils
- How to suggest feathers, texture, and form using line and shading
- Tips for building confidence and developing your own artistic style
Individual guidance and feedback will be provided throughout the class, making it a great learning experience for artists of every level.
Materials to Bring
- Pastel pencils (a small set is fine)
- Pastel paper suitable for pastel pencils
- Kneaded eraser
- Pencil sharpener
- Paper towels or wipes
Optional:
- Graphite pencil for sketching
- Small soft brush for removing pastel dust
- Scrap paper for testing colors
