Art and Watercolor Classes Winter/Spring 2026
As the end of the year is approaching many students are starting to ask me about the upcoming year classes. I have made a list by date of the classes and on December 5th I will add the registration links. The Center’s classes goes live on that date.

Watercolor Live Instruction Winter/Spring 2026
Finish a painting at the end of each class following step-by-step
instruction. Students will have the opportunity to learn and
practice basic to advanced techniques in watercolor.

5 Mixed Mediums Bundle
Take an individual class or experiment with all 5 mediums and
receive a discount. Materials Fee: $5/class. Instructor: Elvira Rascov
WATERCOLOR CHILDREN’S BOOK ILLUSTRATION Make
captivating images using watercolor, ink, and watercolor pencils.
SCRATCHBOARD ILLUSTRATION Reverse drawing, engraving
using a sharp tool to scratch away black surface to reveal white.
TEXTURE IN WATERCOLOR Add depth and visual interest using
watercolor ground.
CHARCOAL DRAWING Develop observational skills by drawing still
life objects. Use charcoal shading to achieve depth, tone, and form.
COLORED PENCIL DRAWING Bring depth and vibrancy to art.
Learn methods of blending colors to create the illusion of different
textures, highlights and shadows.

Watercolor Workshops
GOUACHE LANDSCAPES Learn to layer bold colors with different
blending techniques. Explore tones, brushstrokes techniques, and
color combinations.
SPRING BLOOMS Learn to improve your technique and
successfully paint spring blooms.
MOTHER’S DAY CARDS Hand paint three heartfelt cards.
LANDSCAPES FROM PHOTOS TO ART Create a vibrant and
expressive painting based on a reference photo. Using watercolor
techniques like loose painting, color mixing and value sketching
to achieve beautiful results. Students can use their own photo or
paint from provided reference.

Elvira Rascov, an accomplished Colombian American artist, loves to render nature in watercolors and oils. Elvira has taken her art a notch further, and used these painting techniques to create groovy functional ceramics.
Inspired by her early teachers in Bogotá, Elvira teaches Art throughout the Bay Area, making painting fun and expressive.
When she is not busy capturing the soft California landscapes with its soothing hues of yellows and greens, she is experimenting with cityscapes.
