This class introduces students to pastel pencils as a versatile and expressive medium for painting birds. Students will learn layering techniques, blending, color mixing, and how to suggest feathers and form with line and soft shading. Step-by-step demonstrations will guide students through the process, while individual feedback will help each artist develop confidence and personal style.
All skill levels are welcome.
Materials
• Pastel pencils (small set is fine)
• Pastel paper suitable for pastel pencils
• Kneaded eraser
• Pencil sharpener
• Paper towels or wipes
Optional:
• Graphite pencil for sketching
• Small soft brush for pastel dust
• Scrap paper for testing colors
