When you signed up for a Watercolor Cards Class your first question is what materials do I need for this special class. To make it easier for you I have created this page with the links where you can find what you need for the class.
Here is the list
Because we are painting cards not regular watercolors we need pre-made cards with envelopes that will be easier for you to give away.
So these are the pre-made watercolor cards that I recommend. Strathmore Watercolor cards 6 blank cards with envelopes. You can order these cards HERE
Now if you don’t want to invest on pre-made cards you can buy regular watercolor paper and folded on the desired size to make cards. Use cold press watercolor 140 lb if you can. Here are some options of paper:
Strathmore Watercolor paper. Buy it HERE or this other one from the same brand HERE
Watercolor set
The most common and best watercolor palette that you can have if you don’t have any watercolors is The Windsor & Newton Cotman watercolor paint set of 12 colors. It has good quality colors and it is not that expensive. You can order this palette HERE
Brushes
I recently ordered this set of brushes that for the price I think will work very good and if you want to continue painting in watercolor it will be a good buy. The set is called Fenorkey Artist Watercolor paint brushes. You can order this set HERE
Additional materials
- Plastic water containers
- Artist masking tape. Here is one I like, but you can also use the blue painters masking tape.
- A black ink liner 0.3 or 0.5 (Micron brand) or (Faber Castell) Buy it here ( This is optional)
- A board to glue your card while you are painting – If you don’t have this I bring some to class.
